Even now he wasn't happy. There was sweat on his brow, oddly enough. They were training. He and the funny, chocolate bunny that proceeded with attacking a smaller digimon. They were an odd pair. Neither looked to be the type that liked to fight. Yet, here they were fighting.
The purple haired boy called out. "Lopmon, dodge it." It was unnecessary to actually give the order considering the chocolate bunny already read his partner like a book. The digimon was very much like him that it was a bit startling. Surprisingly determined during battles, but when it came to people ... they were at a loss.
Lopmon leaped high as the kunemon moved back and away from him. A strange light erupted before the bunny like digimon's mouth. "Blazing Ice!" He shouted as a pellet of ice shot forth at the poor digimon. Wether it was because he was one of the very easy child level digimon or a mistake in his programing, the digimon simply stared at the incoming blast.
Like all defeated digimon before it, kunemon fell and soon his data disappeared. There was no blood or howl of pain. It might have been childish of him to keep it that way, but he knew it would be the best away to appeal to all players ... not to mention, it was a digital world. It fitted far better.
"Kouichi." Lopmon shook the teen from his thoughts. There was a worried expression on his bunny features, something he found somewhat amusing. Bunnies that could express concern. He had to stop himself from giggling. Work really must have taken its toll on his mind or something for that to happen. Lopmon's gaze grew stronger.
"Ah. Think we should rest?"
The words left his lips rather sheepishly.

"Hold on a second, Terriermon," the half-Chinese, half-Japanese teenager said busily. On his hand was a sleek, green-toned, metallic device with its screen displaying a menu screen including his inventory and bits. The Digivice was a handful thing both in the real world and in the digital world. Jianliang, or Jen over crazy fad game, Digimon Online, was checking through the items he have before they continue training. He hadn't been playing long (then again, DO was only in its beta-testing mode, its servers only available in Japan and Italy) but Jian had been playing video games since he was seven and Digimon is among his personal favorites. When news of DO came, Jian signed up for beta-testing faster than a hurricane.
"Jeeeeeeen!"
Jian pocketed his Digivice, turning to his Digimon partner. "What is it, Terriermon?
Terriermon was lying flat on the grass, looking particularly like an oversize squeaky, rubber toy. Jian chuckled at his Digimon's least-threatening appearance. When Jian was given a list of Digimon based from his application, Jian did not think twice picking the rabbit Digimon with loopy ears. He was small and cute Jian thought it would be amusing to see it fight and kick ass. Xiaochung, his little sister, approved of his choice.
"I'm tired," Terriermon said, starring at the digital sky.
Jian arched an eyebrow and smiled with amusement. "You're the one who made me promise to come and train today."
Terriermon had one day asked Jian why he picked him over all the other Digimon. Jian was initially hesitant to tell Terriermon, not wanting to offend him, but it only made Terriermon even more curious. He did expect this kind of question to come up but Jian was hoping he save it on a time they were closer. Eventually, Jian gave in and told Terriermon his exact thoughts. Terriermon was insulted, puffing his cheeks and crossing his arms - something Xiaochung always did when she was young. Jian ended up bursting into laughter with Terriermon threatening to use his punch against him.
But Terriermon had the sudden urge to prove himself ever since then. Feeling responsible, Jian apologized to Terriermon. Terriermon shrugged it off though and insisted that his will to get stronger was because he was a Digimon.
"Digimon are meant to fight, Jen," were Terriermon's words.
Even though Jian was well-aware of that, something about it had always bothered him...
Terriermon's ears stood up, alert. Jian broke away from his thoughts. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"A Digimon was just defeated," Terriermon said, standing up.
"Well, a lot of players are around Central Park. It's the best place for beginners. Hey - where are you going -" Jian called out as Terriermon headed off in a direction. "Terriermon!"
Jian followed the bunny Digimon. Despite those small legs, Terriermon could run pretty fast. The bunny once complained he could go faster but his ears were on the way.
Running after Terriermon, Jian saw he was approaching a player who was physically around Jian's age. With the player was a Digimon he recognized - or at least he thought he did. It wasn't obviously another Terriermon. The Digimon was brown and pink and had three horns on its forehead. Jian quickly gained speed to catch up with Terriermon. Terriermon didn't know it but Jian was pretty athletic.. He caught up to his partner and lifted him from the ground, a surprised cry escaping Terriermon's lips.
"Jen, don't just lift me from the ground!" Terriermon said.
"And don't just run off, Terriermon," Jian countered.
"It hurts being held like this," Terriermon whined, trying to squeeze out of Jian's grasps. Somehow, Terriermon managed to escape but instead of returning his feet on the ground, he bounced toward Jian's shoulder and climbed up to his head. "Ahh. Much better."
Jian rolled his eyes, trying to get use to the new weight on his head. "Lay off the food a bit."
Terriermon banged his tiny fist on Jian's head. "It's rude to call Digimon fat."
"Haha, sorry." Jian grinned, eying up at the Digimon in his head. It was going to be hard talking to Terriermon if he was way up there. He better not make a habit of this.
Jian then turned to the player and his Digimon. "Hi. Sorry if Terriermon interrupted you. Do you mind if I ask what Digimon you have? It seems like he's cousins with this little guy."
"Jeeen, stop it with the little comments!" Terriermon said, banging Jian's head again.
"Ack, stop doing that!"
Terriermon turned to the other Digimon and waved with one of his ears. "Hi. I'm Terriermon. Nice to meet you!"

Only due to Lopmon's persistence, they took a break. There were other digimon spawned a good distance away from them, but they didn't attack. In fact, he was sure that they didn't notice them, which was good because Lopmon was going to be annoyed that he didn't pull out some "hocus pocus" -- as the digimon liked to call it --- and make them go away. Unnecessarily hacking the game to his whim is not something he liked doing unless absolutely necessary. It was a rule among both staff and players (well, players weren't supposed to be able to hack in the first place, but that's beside the point).
"But ... we have to get to adult level, Lopmon."
His ear twitched slightly, and Kouichi knew he'd hit a soft spot. He knew that the bunny digimon really disliked his current form. The soft and -- ugh -- cute form that he was currently stuck with. Funny how things worked out. They already had another form in mind that they'd saw and if it wasn't for the digimon's pride, he would have pestered Kouichi to get it for him. "We will get to it. Later." He emphasized as he noticed a pair run up to them.
He chuckled at their interactions. They were warm and light hearted. It was hard to tell that it had only been recently since these two were brought together. "It's fine, we just finished talking." Kouichi said easily, offering a friendly smile. It was then that he took a note of the partner they had. It was true. Other than the difference in the number of horns, lopmon looked like a chocolate version of the other. He recognized it easily as Terriermon. He wasn't particularly Kouichi's design, but he did like it. He nodded in approval, glad to see that he managed to pair up with someone he got along with so well. "Oh." He held out a hand to the chocolate bunny, knowing that he'd like to introduce himself.
His partner was restrained in his action, a bewildered look crossed his features as the two before them fooled around. He didn't have that kind of closeness with his partner, so it was interesting to see how others were with their partners. "I'm Lopmon." The chocolate bunny nodded.
"I'm Jäger."

Of course, he could have just used his Digivice to identify the Digimon but it seemed rude to point at it when introductions were in order. Jian looked at its Trainer (yeah I typed that just now) Lopmon’s partner and gave him a nod. “I’m Jen. Nice to meet you, Jäger. Its Jäger as in the German word, right? I think it’s supposed to mean ‘the hunter.’”
Jäger looked like someone he might have seen in the real world. His appearance wasn’t very striking; he sported a long-sleeved red-violent shirt and a simple green jacket. The conservativeness with his lanky built made him even more bland. It was probably just his style but something about it just gave Jian the idea Jäger didn’t want to be noticed in the first place. Jian wondered if Jäger was using his real life self in the Digital World like him. He hadn’t met anyone who had done the same. Jian thought it was more convenient; why would he hide his appearance when they were pretty much living in the same island? It would be nice to meet outside the Digital World too.
Terriermon jumped off Jian’s head. Jian rustled his hair consciously, hoping Terriermon had not completely flattened it like a pancake.
Terriermon inspected Lopmon up close like he was looking at himself in the mirror. “Hehe, we could be twins, Lopmon! Or maybe we are, I don’t know. What do you think, Jen?” Terriermon asked, turning his head.
“You two looked like you’d work great together,” Jian said. “Girls would swoon over your adorableness combined.”
Terriermon rolled his eyes, turning back to Lopmon. “Don’t mind Jen. We might be cute now, but we’ll show them! When we evolve, they’ll be watching us from under our feet! We’ll be like…yaaah! Ha! Gah! Ho-ya!” Terriermon made inaccurate fighting poses, striking the air with his tiny hands and making kicking movements.
Jian chuckled. “You know I was just kidding. Sorry if I offended you too, Lopmon,” Jian said. He looked at Jäger to explain his partner’s behavior. “Terriermon’s touchy about being called cute and now he wants to train everyday to evolve as soon as possible.” Jian shook his head. “I don’t see what good could come out of it aside from getting his ego massaged. He might just end up digivolving into something even cuter.”
“No, I won’t,” Terriermon said, lowering his fighting posture. “Me and Lopmon are going to become big and mean and wreck every city with a boom!”
Jian frowned, crossing his arms. “That doesn’t sound remotely nice, Terriermon.”
Terriermon pouted. “I was just kidding...”
Jian made a forgiving smile, relaxing. “I guess that makes us even then.”
“Heh. Lopmon, high five!” Terriermon said, lifting one ear up.

kouichi smiled. "that's right." jen didn't at all look german, but to be able to pick up on it was amusing, to say the least. it did cause him to relax, even just a little bit. "it's a pleasure to meet you as well, jen."
feeling jen eyes linger on him made kouichi a bit self conscious of himself. he wasn't sure what to do ... well, other than stare back, but that didn't seem quite right, or polite really. so, he didn't. instead, he let terriermon and lopmon do whatever it is they were doing.
lopmon moved a little, not behind his partner, but enough to give the other space when he jumped off jan's head. easy landing, but that wasn't too surprising with their parachute ears to soften any fall. unlike his partner, terriermon was not at all subtle with his observations. the digimon was looking at him in such a funny way that lopmon was at a loss of what to do. he scratched his head, beside one of the horns on the side, wondering and staring at the other. lopmon nearly sighed visibly when terriermon looked away. if there was something that kouichi and lopmon agreed on it was that terriermon was a lively one.
kouichi had to cover his mouth with his right hand to muffle his laughter at jen's comment. he couldn't agree more with him more. they were cute and would probably "take down" plenty girls with their looks alone. add in terriermon's charming personality and lopmon's obliviousness and they'd probably collapse.
noticing his partner laughing caused the digimon's right eye to twitch slightly. oh, he'll be getting back at him later. in the office, when there's work to be done. terriermon, on the other hand, didn't seem as affected. sure, he did roll his eyes in annoyance, but he didn't seem too mad, going as far as showing off those odd moves of his. lopmon actually wondered if they were really useful in a battle situation. their arms and legs were far shorter than their legs, so it might actually be more beneficial for them to use them as weapons. that is, if they were doing "hand to hand" combat of some sort.
as for jen, he thought he was a nice guy as well. the boy certainly knew how to handle terriermon well. he nodded from jen's apology, he clearly understood his "twin." they were the underdogs. no one would think of them as threatening with their cutesy little forms. unfortunately, that was exactly what they didn't like. if they were to evolve into something more like what jen was suggesting. he mentally shivered at the thought.
kouichi looked at lopmon reassuringly. "they could, but somehow i doubt it." he commented, not intentionally trying to soothe terriermon's ego.
he looked to terriermon, seeing his ear floating before him. it took a second for it to click in. he grinned, matching terriermon's. "we might not tear down cities, but we'll be strong and cool." he said before giving the digimon a high five with his ear.

Jian couldn’t help but laugh at Terriermon’s enthusiasm. Even though Lopmon was more reserved, he and Terriermon were on the same boat. They seemed to be on the same wavelength when it came to their underdog status.
“ This is getting me pumped up!” Terriermon said, balling his hands into fists. “Jen, let’s kick some Digimon butt now! Someone needs to have a taste of my punch! Ha-yah!” Terriermon swung his fist in the air.
“I guess that’s good news,” Jian said, turning to Jäger. “Maybe you and Lopmon would like to go for a little adventure with us? With two Digimon together, it should make battles easier. Maybe we could even fight some Adult Level Digimon.”
Terriermon’s ears perked up, slowly turning his head to Jian. “Did my ears just heard right or am I going deaf? You’re actually suggesting we fight stronger Digimon?” Terriermon asked excitedly.
“That’s right,” Jian said smilingly. It was like talking to his little sister, except Terriermon was happier about news of fighting than news of visiting the amusement park. Jian was sure Terriermon would enjoy both though. “We still have enough mods if the going gets tough.”
Terriermon turned to Lopmon with a wide grin. “Let’s go, Lopmon! We might just evolve if we fight against stronger Digimon!”
“Don’t make it hard for them to say no, Terriermon,” Jian said, embarrassed. “If they don’t want to party with us, you shouldn’t force them. Jäger might have other plans.”
“But you never let me fight stronger Digimon!” Terriermon whined. ‘I’m sick of all this Kunemon.”
“At least you’re picking on someone your own size.”
“Heeeey.”
Jian raised his hands defensively, chuckling. “Kidding, kidding.” Jian turned to Jäger once again. “Well, what about it, Jäger?”

kouichi was a bit surprised as to how much jen trusted their abilities, to be powerful enough to take an adult. he was flattered, even if one of those adult level digimon was something like weedmon (which even they could take out on their own with ease).
lopmon reacted similarly. not that he was against the idea. he would like to see just how he fought in battle, and, at the moment, terriermon was the closest thing to it. he hoped that they didn't look too cute ... he mentally grimaced at the thought. the idea of being cute at all was just terrifying really. not that they could help it, he had to keep reminding himself.
kouichi merely listened as jen and terriermon's interactions went further. he wasn't sure if he should interrupt. it felt invasive almost, like he was watching a scene from a television show. it was something he had always wanted to try. maybe, he could have had a younger sibling now if things had ... he frowned, remembering something that he didn't want to remember. the hate he had for his father for leaving them, for leaving him at such a young age and fend for themselves on the streets, if he hadn't ...
he snapped out of it when he heard terriermon's comments regarding the kunemon. it made him smile a little inside. kunemon were kind of boring. he knew that even lopmon was getting tired of those mindless little drones. they were so easy to eliminate and proved only to be a challenge when one didn't carry hp disks or headed to the inn every now and then.
he didn't even notice when terriermon held lopmon's hands in his. the excited cream colored bunny was practically ecstatic of the idea. and, while his emotions were far more contained and reserved than terriermon's, lopmon nodded as well, clearly agreeing with him.
"it's fine." kouichi said rather strongly. he didn't want to be a spoil sport. and, despite the fact that the two did have their moments, they were very easy to get along with. he wasn't at all bothered by the idea of having someone else join them in battling. in fact, it could be fun. still, he looked over to lopmon to make sure that he was alright with it. lopmon nodded in approval and kouichi smiled as he looked back to jen. "why not?"
"i think there might be some weedmon at the edges of this area, close to the next areas, that we can start off with." he didn't add that they were probably as easy to defeat as the kunemon, but it was only a suggestion. if they wanted something else, he wasn't going to protest. something easier though, for a start, might be a good idea. besides, those vines of theirs weren't exactly pleasant to deal with.

It’s about time the Digital World sees some actual action,” Terriermon said, promptly dragging Lopmon to lead the mighty Weedmon Crusade for The Cute and The Fuzzy.
“La, la, la, la~!” Terriermon sang, swinging Lopmon’s ear rhythmically, marching to the sound of his voice. “Come on, Lopmon! Sing! La, la, la, la~!”
Jian snickered, letting Terriermon do whatever he wanted. He doubted he could stop Terriermon this time. Jian had never seen him in such high spirits. Terriermon did always love making friends but this was probably the first time he felt meeting an actual kin. Maybe they weren’t really related by blood (or by data to be more specific) but it must feel at home to be beside someone who was identical to you even if it were only by appearance.
“Whoever made this game must be a genius,” Jian said to Jäger, following the two from behind, his hands in his pockets. “I didn’t expect Digimon to be so…human. I always thought the Digimon were just programmed to be nice but looking at these two, it’s like they’re long lost twins. I can’t help but feel they even have a sense of kinship.”
He smiled to Jäger. “Thanks for letting us tag-along…or, well, letting Terriermon tag all of us along. I hope he wasn’t too forceful. He can get too excited sometimes.”
He waited for the other player to response. Jian was just like Terriermon in this way. He wanted to break the ice. He was more subtle and less loud than Terriermon’s method as demonstrated with his way toward Lopmon. He didn’t want overstepping his boundaries. Beside, Jian wasn’t really talkative himself and didn’t ramble. He wanted to hear a bit more from Lopmon’s partner. Jian hadn’t really had much of a chance to have a talk with other players more than a few exchanged of words usually inquiries about the game. Jian knew people in the game from the outside world, but not the other way around.

kouichi honestly had a hard time feeling rather light hearted as he watched lopmon's interactions (abet forced) with terriermon. the brown bunny wasn't quite sure how to react. anger, though, appeared to be the last thing on his mind. he actually went along with it, even if his movements were somewhat stiff and awkward.
he did yelp at first, somewhat surprised. even kouichi stared at him for a second, but he quickly brushed it aside and went on with whatever terriermon was doing. he nodded at his words. "no more kunemon or bakumon!"
"la, la, la?" he tried to sing. as his odd movements from before, his voice was rather wobbly and unsure of himself. but ... at least his marching was right. he was right to the beat.
kouichi pressed his lips together at the digimon's efforts to match terriermon's vivaciousness. it was funny and strange to see him act in such away. hearing jen snickering beside him made him realize that he was not the only one. but it was nice. two funny (and cute) little digimon, mucking around and having fun. it was nice to see how the two sort of "clicked." lopmon really was one of those conservative, serious types (not that he wasn't) and getting him out of that shell was refreshing.
besides, he was beginning to follow terriermon's pace. the wobbly, clumsy actions from before were being replaced to closely match terriermon's, adding his own little flair to the entire thing.
his gaze snapped away from the two to jen's as hearing the player talk. he tried his best not to look too happy or interested in what he had to say, at least when referring to digimon online. he didn't quite want to ... ah, tip him off or something. "ah, you think so?" the words came a little hesitantly. and then he went on, going more into detail as to why he believed so. he couldn't help the warmth pride and confidence grow inside. jen would probably never know how much he wanted to hear words like that from players, nevertheless he was glad. "they really do. you can almost forget that this is a game."
kouichi shook his head. they weren't a bother in his mind. in fact, they were helping them. in mmorpgs, this would be considered a "party," right? to help each other to defeat a common enemy (or more) to grow stronger was something that came almost naturally. "it's alright. lopmon doesn't seem to dislike this." he said easily. "it's a nice change. i hope lopmon and i aren't boring to you two."

We're all new players after all. Just relax, take it easy. Er, moumentai, or something like that,” Jian said, chuckling. Maybe he and Terriermon had come off overwhelming at the start. It was easy to forget other things when he and Terriermon were talking. Jian would have to amend that.
“How about you, Jäger? How do you find the game so far?” Jian asked. “Lopmon must be an easy partner to deal with. I can't get my eyes off Terriermon for a minute. He's more excited than he is with the game than me,” he added, glancing at the two marching Digimon, half-expecting Terriermon to suddenly run off again, possibly dragging Lopmon by the ear.
Terriermon didn't seem to hear anything and was drowning Lopmon's awkward singing with his own. He was glad Lopmon was playing along. He wouldn't want some serious, boring Digimon to hang out with like a Renamon. Lopmon looked pretty stiff but they could work on that eventually. He probably just needed some exposure to the word fun.
He stopped on his tracks when he spotted a Kunemon around some bushes not too far away. He smirked and tugged Lopmon. "How about some warm-up, eh? Lopmon?" Terriermon challenged. And by warm-up, he meant showing off. He and Jian had just finished off a Kunemon earlier so Terriermon was eager to show some results. They might be friends but they were rivals now too. He was going to show Lopmon what Terriermon had been doing for days.
Without even asking for Jian's permission, Terriermon let go of Lopmon and started to whirl in his spot, his long ears whipping in the air until he was a small cyclone. This was a new technique he learned and it was very nifty. Lopmon should consider himself lucky to see this first! "Petit Twister!"
The mini cyclone slammed into the unsuspecting Kunemon, knocking it over the bushes. Terriermon followed the Kunemon, splitting the bush apart with his tornado and sending leaves into the air.
"You're not getting away!" Terriermon said but something made him stop. The wind around him died down just as his enthusiasm did. "...uh-oh."
There were three other Kunemon behind the bush. The fourth one, the one Terriermon attacked, looked absolutely livid and was apparently friends with these other Digimon.
Terriermon moved a few steps back nervously. Well at least he wasn't the only one in trouble now. "Uh, Jen. Help?"

kouichi stared at jen for a second, confused. was he acting strange again? what would he have to do to fix that? " o - okay then. " he wasn't sure what else to say. he hoped that was a good enough answer.
" i think .... " he smiled. the world of his creation was amazing, despite having the efforts of others go into his creation. it wouldn't have been finished if he hadn't recieved the help. there were little edits to his design in almost everything, but he didn't hate it too much. jealous, perhaps, because he had not calculated it just right, but ... " i think the game is surreal. " he decided.
" lopmon can be a worry wart. he just doesn't act like that around others. " he found it strange that jen was easy to talk to. there was some sort of "feel" to him. charisma? that helped kouichi feel at ease. " even if terriermon tires you out, don't you feel kinda ... happy about it? " he looked down, a frown marring his features, and thought. " no, i meant, it's more exciting? "
" wait. i don't think we should -- " but his voice was cut as terriermon used his technique and spun forth to hit the caterpillar like digimon. it was too late. all he could do was watch what happened next.
and what he saw nearly caused him to face-palmed as the rest of the kunemon shown themselves to assist the one terriermon had harmed.
" ... do that. " he finished.
as the unhappy kunemon decided to reveal themselves, a light began to form before lopmon's mouth. a cool translucent blue flame shot forth at their enemy. " blazing ice! " he cried out. there wasn't going to be time. they'd have to attack. it flew forth hitting one of the
" are you alright? " he called out to the two rabbit like digimon. of course they were. they hadn't gotten seriously attacked, and it was terriermon who spurred their ire. " get ready! " he told his "sibling" and his partner. kouichi nodded as lopmon sent another shot. this time at the kunemon that terriermon had harmed earlier.

The little smile Jian saw form on Jäger's lips piqued his interest a bit. It was almost like he was recalling fond memories just at the mention of the game. It made Jian a bit curious just what Jäger's connection to the virtual world was to make him seem so...sentimental about it. He could tell that behind Jäger's simple words hid a deeper, bigger meaning that left Jian on the dark. It didn't feel like Jäger was being secretive about whatever it was though. Jäger was slowly striking to him as an honest guy the way he talked and acted. Maybe he could ask when they officially become friends.
"Surreal, huh?" he said quietly, pondering. It did feel unreal to him but at the same time very real. For example, Terriermon seemed very real to him. The way he made jokes, pulled his cheeks, and attempted trash talking (he failed miserably) were all so real; however, Terriermon's very own existence, a program made out of data...it was unreal. Jian was more than familiar with programming. His own father was a programmer himself and they were both astounded by the news of a virtual world. When Jian sent an e-mail describing the game to his father, he was shocked about the AI levels. In some weird way, Jian found it easier to believe it was magic behind all of this.
He hummed thoughtfully at Jäger's question. "I'm definitely happy to be with Terriermon," he agreed and paused to think more about the question. He didn't think Terriermon really made things exciting. Maybe easier, but not exciting. But he was still fun to hang around with when he wasn't with Natsuko, his friend who was another beta tester in the island. "I feel safe around him. At home. Like a friend, I suppose." At that moment, he laughed. "It sounds pretty stupid, I know."
This wasn't the real world after all, Jian thought. He shouldn't think things such as friendship should be the same as it should be in real life. This was a game.
Their conversation was interrupted by Terriermon's shout and what catastrophe came afterward.
"Terriermon!" Jian shouted. Terriermon didn't seem to be injured but this wasn't going to turn out good. Lopmon's Blazing Ice destroyed one of the Kunemon that Terriermon attaked earlier but three other healthier ones remained though one had taken a hit as well. The three Kunemon surrounded the two rabbit Digimon and curled into a ball to attack from all directions.
This was what Jian was afraid of. Weak as the Kunemon were, they were outnumbered easily but does this mean they were also outmatched?
Jian quickly popped into his menu and thought of the item in his inventory. "Attack Mod!"
Terriermon wrapped his ear on Lopmon's. "Let's get out of here! Blazing Fire!" Terriermon released a large, hot, green ball of energy from his mouth not at the Kunemon, but at the ground for the impact to shoot them in the air. With the Attack Mod, Blazing Fire would surely be able to send Terriermon in the air but with a passenger with him? Jian crossed his fingers. He hoped it was strong enough or else it might just be the end for them.

Kouichi nodded thoughtfully. He understood what Jen meant. Terriermon and Lopmon were amazing examples of how far artificial intelligence had come. When he had first heard of it, of course he was amazed. He thought it was even more amazing than his own invention. As a child, he would never had imagined that he would obtain a creature that was like lopmon. He seemed to evolve, not only with his form, but with his personality. The bunny like digimon was learning like a child ... which Kouichi found amusing. Lopmon acted far less like that now.
He opened his mouth to say something, but was promptly interrupted by the disaster that was happening with their digimon.
The dark haired teen would have run to them if they (Terriermon and Lopmon) weren’t suddenly surrounded by the Kunemon that were left. He looked over their situation quickly. They should have been able to take care of them, if they attacked right. Three. That meant they would only get attacked by one if they had shared a unison attack.
But, before he could do anything, Jen acted. Using an attack mod, Kouichi understood just what they were going to do. Lopmon nodded, feeling Terriermon’s ear around his and held on tightly. Even without the attack mod, he mimicked Terriermon’s action. ”Blazing ice!” He called out, sending his own blue ball of energy at the ground.
The blast didn’t only push them off the ground, but it had damaged the terrain. Bits of data in the shape of debris flew, many striking the Kunemon that had surrounded them. They fell back due to the strikes and fell “dead.” A second later, their data disappeared.
By now, the two would have already landed back on the ground. Their ears would have provided a very good parachute for the two of them. Wearily, Lopmon let go of Terriermon’s ear. “Let’s not do that again.” He said with a sigh, not disappointed, but relieved that neither of them really got hurt.
Placing a hand right at the center of Lopmon’s triple horns, Kouichi wouldn’t help the small smile growing. “Still think you’re up for an adult level digimon?” Yes, he was glad that the two were alright. He had seen what happened. Terriermon had gotten them both in trouble, but they were still child level digimon.
In response, Lopmon acted childishly for once. His cheeks puffed up and he looked away.
”I know, I know. They jumped you.”

So easily that he couldn't believe it. Was it because of luck? He looked at the deformed terrain caused by the combined attack. It was more destructive than he thought. He hadn't expected them to not only get away, but to also finish all three of those Digimon in one blow. He supposed direct attacks were not the only way to beat a Digimon.
Terriermon just laughed at the matter. Like Jian, he was quite amazed at how easy they've taken down those Kunemon but he had his own conclusion for that. "Lopmon and I are unstoppable! Those Kunemon didn't stand a chance! That must be a load of experience we got too," he said excitedly. He looked at his hands as if expecting them to glow and change any minute.
Jian just shook his head. Someone's getting a bit obsessed but he let it off for now. No used reprimanding Terriermon after they pulled through a sticky situation. Terriermon can be careless from time to time but he has guts and wits. Even in that situation, he didn't panic or make anymore mistakes. He should give more credit to the little guy.
"Terriermon." Terriermon looked up to his smiling tamer. "You did great."
Terriermon blankly stared at Jian as if his program malfunctioned for a second. Jian thought something was wrong with him and he even got more worried when Terriermon's eyes lit up with glossy...tears?
"Uh...Terriermon...?"
"YAAY!" the Digimon cried out, running toward Jian with his small arms stretched up in the air. His parachute ears followed behind him like a billowing cape. Terriermon leaped in the air all of a sudden Jian frantically reached out to catch him.
"What's wrong?" he asked, baffled. He was unsure of what to do as Terriermon embraced him like a clinging koala. A clinging, laughing koala. Jian looked at Lopmon and Jäger for assistance, wondering if they were just as confused as he was. Terriermon had never acted like this before. Do Digimons reach a certain level where they become affectionate to their tamers? "Okay..." he muttered, trying to figure out what to do. He awkwardly rubbed Terriermon at the back of his head. Huh, this sure felt like having Xiaochung again.
Jian turned back to Jäger. He hoped he wasn’t blushing from the randomness. “Er…shall we continue?”

Holding a curled fist before his mouth, Kouichi began to laugh at Jen and Terriermon's antics. He was a lucky guy to get such an affectionate digimon ... or, well, having raised the little guy into one. Watching their interactions made it even clearer of the success of the artificial intelligence that partner digimon obtained.
Looking away, but keeping a hand before his mouth, he hid a smile. "Whenever you are." The dark haired teen replied. Lopmon gave a "thumbs up" with his ear as well.
Unfortunately, it didn't seem like their troubles were going to end just yet. From the corner of his eye, he could have sworn that there was a digimon around them hiding somewhere in the bushes. It didn't help that the digital time was adjusting to match a sunset. Maybe it was just the trick of the eye. A glitch that was left unchecked (meaning that someone was going to have to see to it later).
Lopmon noticed this as well. His little body went tense as he looked over his surroundings carefully. He didn't want another incident like the one that had just happened to occur. "Jäger, keep an eye out." The chocolate bunny like digimon commented. Kouichi nodded easily, noticing his slip to the teen's username.
"Do you know what it is?" He asked quietly, as if saying the words with his normal tone would make whatever was around jump and attack. The digimon shook his head in return, causing Kouichi to frown. "Just stay cautious, okay?" Kouichi nodded again, fully agreeing with him. Sometimes ... these npc digimon were quite intimidating things.
He gave a sigh, somewhat calmer now knowing that Lopmon had sensed something too and that he wasn't crazy. But ... he still hadn't figured out just what he had seen earlier.
What he had seen what the glint of a gold ring that bound the arm of a rather playful holy beast, but he was not alone. There were several out there. Each one anticipating and their arrival. One was in the path before them. There was another to their left and to their right. No matter which way they went, they were surrounded and the two barely had a hint of what it could be.
"Jen. Terriermon." He spoke up this time. "Can you sense it too?"
Whether he did or not, the digimon already sent out an attack. A dark, lavender mist emerged from where each of the three bakumon were. It was thick and heavy, something that one would expect from a thick smog in a very busy city. One might even claim it to be possibly choking. Virus erase.
notes ... we take forever, you know that right? xD but lawl. there were plenty of lopmon and kouichi moments too. bakumon swarm.
