Ruki yawned, bright violet eyes looked around the city while blinking, annoyance clear along her countenance; first time in the damn game due to time and the sign-up process had been irritating. Choosing her user name was easy; digimon queen, and the end where picking a digimon was the most exciting thing, she received a beautiful fox like digimon called Renamon. Much to her disappointment, Ruki had seen other tamers with the Renamon digimon, proving her need and desire to become better, to be the best. "Renamon." Ruki drawled, calling out her partner to the open; as expected, Renamon appeared beside her, standing tall and lithe, with grace simply oozing from those limbs. "I want one thing. To be the best. That means training. If you cannot keep up-" Ruki's hands curled into fists, anger polluting her tone as those violet eyes narrowed dangerously. Her digimon merely blinked and dipped her head, Ruki still stood there glowering, her digimon's appearance and actions doing nothing to make her smile. Ruki was not a smiling type, smirking yes, smiling, out of the question. When did she last smile? Even Ruki didn't know, she hardly ever smiled.
"I will keep up, Ruki." Renamon promised, twisting her regal head to stare down the pathway. "The city is boring, weak people stay here. Let's go." Ruki began walking towards the park, not willing to stand by and learn when she could learn on the go; that was what made her so good at things she put her mind towards, finding it easier to do something rather than read hundreds of books on the subject. Of course, there were times where she learned something by reading, but it was doing it that made her feel like she was the best. Shoulders rolled, causing her broken blue hearted tee-shirt to crinkle at the edges. Completing her attire was a yellow clothe around her neck, her green sleeved white shirt with the broken blue heart symbol, denim jeans with buckles around her waist and one leg, red wrist bands and matching red steel toed shoes. Constantly her mother was trying to get her out of such an outfit, but it was comfortable, moreso than those stupid dresses that mother dear kept handing her. "We need to find a digimon for you to fight." Ruki spoke, sparing half a glance at Renamon, not caring if she disagreed or not. She was the tamer, and she was going to make sure they beat everyone else. That had been her goal here in the game, and it was important to have goals in life. So what if hers involved kicking ass? It would show those guys that girls could be just as great as guys.
Walking, no, that wasn't quite right, stalking, still, it took them a little bit to reach the park, people seemed keen on getting in their way while Ruki bowed her head, staring as the ground passed beneath her moving body. Renamon was silent, only the ever soft pattering of her clawed feet against the ground indicated she was there, other than that she made no attempt to speak to her tamer. Upon reaching the park, Ruki smirked, taking a deep breath while staring around their new surroundings. This should be it, time to find some digimon stupid enough to come into view. A momentary discomfort plagued her, causing her to glower and shake it from her mind. Now was not a time for any second thoughts, this was what she came to do. Fighting digimon would give them more experience in that field, they'd be able to get stronger and become the best. Besides, digimon were only data, it didn't matter. Little did she know that one day, one day, she may end up changing her mind. "There Renamon, attack!" Ruki called as she saw shadows moving, not bothering to look closer, thinking it was just a low level digimon that she could win against. Tensing, the fox digimon braced herself, leaping forwards to begin her attack, not wanting to anger, upset or cause any negative emotions for her tamer. This was what she was asked to do, this was what she would do. For her tamer, always for her tamer.

For once the pair was quiet, well, mostly. The over sized red dog dinosaur was humming to himself rather happily and Takato was trailing behind him with his hands folded behind his head causally. They were exploring central park. Of course, they wanted to fight, but it didn't seem like they were going to be getting to do that yet. Guilmon chased after everything that moved. One time a leaf on the other side of the field was falling and Guilmon actually chased it down just before it hit the ground.
So now was resting. He actually enjoyed the change of pace, but that was only 'cause he wasn't running around telling Guilmon to stop and heel or something to get him to stop leaving him behind. It did sadden him that he wasn't good at this taming stuff, even with those yellow goggles of his, currently hung around the top of his head. He couldn't be awesome until he could manage Guilmon and get him to grow stronger and stronger.
Since he made him and all, shouldn't he be the best person to tame him?
Maybe we need to bond more? Even though he was right, he couldn't think of a way how to other than battling. Maybe that was the solution? They just hadn't battled enough digimon?
He scanned around the field for one of those kunemon or bakumon, or even betamon! But there wasn't any luck. He couldn't find them. It was like ... they were hiding or something. It was strange. It usually wasn't this hard to find even a random Kunemon showing up near here. Weird. He thought, blinking a bit. "Do you smell anything, Guilmon?"
It was then that Guilmon's super nose(?) kicked in. He was sniffing the air sensing something. Then he suddenly froze. His normally comical features became stiff and he focused on one position. Takato's eyes widened slightly, knowing just what he was going to do. He was going to run, and Takato was going to lose track of him again. "H - hey! Wait a minute! Guilmon!" The goggle head cried, but the red dino was already gone, leaving him in the dust. He groaned, dusting off his pants and began to run in the same direction that he went.
Somewhere along the line, he felt a chill down his spine. He rubbed his arms, wondering if the Digimon Online really could change the temperature or something. Maybe it was some kind of bug? Welp, he wouldn't know. While he did okay in school, he wasn't that smart with how he heck the place worked. That was up to the staff! Finding Guilmon was more important. Speaking of which, he could actually see his tail now, and he smiled, relieved. But he still couldn't shake the bad feeling he had.
And then it happened. He barely had time to register the yellow blur coming his way. "---!" His arms rose instinctively, just in time to cover his face, but it didn't save him from getting tackled by the fox - like digimon.
As if sensing his tamer's distress, Guilmon turned around to see his tamer attacked. He ran towards them, growling at the strange digimon in warning.

Ruki stood with a glare, an air of pride and maybe arrogance lingered around her frame. Renamon could handle this, she better, otherwise there would be hell to pay. All the tamer wanted was one strong digimon, and Renamon seemed to fit the bill. Plus she listened which was definitely handy; Ruki didn't want a digimon that hardly listened to a word she said. "Huh." Confusion laced her tone of voice as Renamon collided with something, tackling whoever it was before veering off, spinning in mid-air before landing instinctively in a crouch. What was the fox digimon doing? Ruki thought with annoyance, narrowed those violet hued eyes to whatever it was that had been unfortunate enough to be in the way. Annoyance turned to disbelief, disbelief turning back into annoyance, it wasn't a digimon at all but a male tamer. A human that she knew, recognizing his facial features instantly, taking half a step backward as if it was just a dream and she'd wake up any second. Great, out of all the tamers she could have been unfortunate enough to meet up with, it had to be him. It had to be-
"What are you doing Goggle Head?" Ruki growled in irritation, regaining all sense of composure as she stalked a few steps closer, the growl of Guilmon registering in her ears; "You were supposed to be a digimon." Renamon stood sharply, watching Guilmon running closer towards them, smirking at the dinosaurs growl. "Renamon wait." Ruki called, torn between wanting to know why Goggle Head was around, and fighting the red dino. "Listen here Goggle Head, you're in my way. I came here to train, not run into someone I know." Great, just damn well great. "You should get up before someone comes and stomps on you." Ruki advised sarcastically, not bothering to look at Takato or his digimon but instead, her gaze was up towards the sky before those eyes landed on her own digimon. Blowing air from her lips, moving a piece of stray hair that bobbed within her vision, the female tamer was bored. Coming out here to fight had been a priority but with no digimon fitting the bill, it only left Guilmon. "I hope you didn't scare all the digimon away." Cold gaze swept over the boy before she stalked towards Renamon, the fox digimon waiting to see what Ruki said or ordered next.
Folding arms across her chest, Ruki stood glowering again, surveying for any sign of wild digimon but coming up empty. That left only one option. "How do you feel about fighting Goggle Head? Give your digimon a better reason to growl." Renamon seemed to get the hint, tail flashing as she eyed the red dinosaur, judging distances and seeing where the best shot could be. Both didn't want to battle a human, and while neither would admit it, they both feel sorry for the tackling of Takato. Battling a wild digimon? Fun, but not as intense, especially a rookie. Battling another tamer and their digimon? More interesting. Ruki waited for a response, finding it boring to attack first and win because someone wasn't paying attention. No, she'd give Goggle Head one chance before Renamon unleashed an attack on Guilmon unless other digimon showed up, she would ignore Takato in favor of them.

Takato was still on the ground. His hands were still covering his face, a part of him fearing just what the heck was happening to him. He blinked, those reddish brown orbs peeked from behind his arms. What he saw wasn't a strange digimon, rather, it was her. The self proclaimed (well, she was a strong tamer but-) digimon queen. "Ruki - chan!" Takato exclaimed, quickly sitting now. He couldn't help blushing though. It was stupid, really, what kind of tamer lets himself (or herself) get attacked by a partner digimon?
His fists curled up when she mentioned that he was getting in her way. She was the one who told Renamon to attack him! "We're here to train too, you know!" Hearing his partner's outburst, Guilmon growled again. He didn't want anyone be so mean to his partner, even if he didn't listen to half the things the goggle wearing boy told him. Noticing this, Takato sighed and motioned for Guilmon to calm down. "We haven't scared anything away." He wasn't going to mentioned that she probably scared them off with that "aura" she practically emitted. The "I'm going to get each and everyone one of you" feel was downright chilling.
"Ah, right." He scratched the back of his head nervously, ignoring her last comment. There was something about her that was always unnerving. Frankly, it could just be because she just had something his dad would probably call "her own pace." Standing up to his full height, he looked her over. It had been a while since they had seen each other. Maybe not too long in her mind, but it was nice to see someone he knew here. He'd heard that Jen was around here somewhere too, but ... Ah, now he was getting ahead of himself.
"Huh?" The dark haired teen stared at her wide eyed. It wasn't against the rules or anything. He had seen a few tamers fight amongst themselves also. "W - wait. Renamon and Guilmon?" He asked somewhat tentatively, trying to see if his ears were working right.

Cold eyes narrowed, zeroing in on poor Takato who lay there, arms folded across his face. Smart move, at least if anyone attacked(again) his face wouldn't get injured. Arching an eye, Ruki waited for him to continue, barely acknowledging that he'd spoken her name, and in true Ruki-style merely watched the space above his head. "Train? Really? And here I thought you'd be playing." Ruki half sneered, eyes pulled from that empty space to glare at Guilmon, waiting for the other digimon to back down; Ruki wasn't going to take any growling from any digimon, especially one of a lower ranking than herself. She knew she wasn't the only one that would wish to train, and she was hardly about to admit that she would enjoy seeing Takato train(if only to get a glimpse of his techniques and how good he was), she more preferred to be alone. Seemed like getting that was impossible in this game, Beta phase or no Beta phase. Jeez, there had to be an area where she didn't have to run into other players.
For now the girl was content on ignoring Takato and looking at Renamon now that Guilmon was calm, her digimon giving off a calm vibe, those blue eyes fraught with anticipation of an upcoming battle; nothing would please her more than fighting for her tamer, while nothing would please Ruki more than winning. Sighing with impatience, Ruki whirled around onto Takato, giving her best displeased look; really how could someone not understand what she was saying? Unless he was stalling for time, or to think of a way to say no(which may annoy her, but at least she could get back onto training). One day she may look back and feel guilty or somewhat bad about treating him like this; he didn't do anything specific, Ruki just didn't like people that much, preferring to be in her own world where she made up the rules, where no-one could get too attached and then simply vanish, abandoning her even though they'd promised to come back....
You promised that you'd stay for the sunset.
"Yes Renamon and Guilmon. You can't be that stupid. Unless, you're scared Goggle Head?" Ruki snapped from her thoughts, stamping half an inch closer to the male tamer, not getting too close to invoke another Guilmon-growl. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. Much." Renamon spoke, icy eyes glittering as she pawed closer as well; while Ruki may not care too much about the red dinosaur, Renamon didn't wish to hurt him that much, hoping that he'd be able to hold his own even if that meant frustration from her tamer. "And since I'm in a nice mood." Ruki paused, glaring as if she dared someone to laugh or try to contradict her, "I'll let you start." Renamon nodded, lowering her stance as she waited for Guilmon; meanwhile the smaller digimon that were supposed to be around would be coming into view sooner or later, depending on how things went the tamers may just need to work together, something that Ruki had no clue about.

"Well, I guess I am playing too. But ..." He trailed off before he started rambling. She did that to him. There was something that made him ramble off like an idiot and never really help his case whenever he talked to her. It didn't help that she almost always kept her calm so that made it even more intimidating. It was like ... Getting scolding like a child. "You're playing too, you know." He pointed out rather bravely.
He bristled at her comment. She might be intimidating, but that didn't mean he was scared! At least not yet. He stood aggressively, holding a fist in her direction. It was a bluff, yes, but the back of his mind called to him, warning him that Renamon could attack again, at least Guilmon was by his side this time. "I'm not scared!" Really, for a teenager, he sure wasn't acting like one right now. It wouldn't be too surprising if he probably sounded like a child to her.
Takato hold both hands in front of him now in an aggressive manner. He knew she was just baiting him into it, but he still fell for it. "Fine." For once, his voice was confident, maybe because he was still annoyed. He looked to Guilmon, eyes blazing. "Let's go, Guilmon!" He said, pointing to Renamon. "Let's show 'em what we got!"
Guilmon quickly nodded, grinning. He loved a good battle. Turning to Renamon, fire began to build up in his mouth. Flames could be seen whipping around his mouth in a playful manner. Then, when he was ready, he quickly tilted his head back and aimed right for the vulpine before letting a scorching hot ball of flames. "Fireball!"

A moment of stunned silence, Ruki glaring daggers at the boy in front of her; he was getting awfully brave and equally stupid to point out something to the Digimon Queen. "I'm training; playing is having fun. I am not." Ruki spoke, voice icy and cold. Not many stood up to the Digimon Queen like that, and part of her felt annoyed. On the other hand she was impressed yet never would she show that! Makino Ruki had a reputation to keep, and by gosh dammit she would keep do anything to keep it. Jeez, this game is giving everyone more courage than they should have. Who does this Goggle Head think he is by doing such a thing? It's time to teach him what happens when you play with the big kids.
"Prove it Goggle Head." Ah, she had baited him right where she wanted him to be, now she had respect for him if he was willing to fight her. Yes she had pushed him into it, and yes she would want to stomp him into the ground, but usually people ended up backing away whenever it was found out that Ruki would be their opponent. "You know what to do Renamon. Don't let me down!" Ruki all but snapped, her voice and stance cool, collected, and with an air of someone who knew what they were doing, pointed towards the yellow vulpine digimon to begin. Lowering her hand, Ruki couldn't help but smirk, not smile, but her usual smirk that displayed upon her lips.
Renamon watched the red dinosaur for whatever attack would be coming her way; icy blue orbs saw the flames as they built up, a brighter reddish than Guilmon's dark red on his body. Smirking in an eerily similar manner as her tamer, Renamon stood, arms crossing over one another over her stomach; not for any sort of attack but she remained still as the fireball was thrown(spat?) her way. Hot fire singed her fur, scorching to the very skin. Hissing, fangs peeked from her lips as she tilted her head back, arms yanking towards Renamon's sides to help lessen the heat. Where the fire had landed, black marks appeared, showing that Guilmon had done some damage, which was not amusing to Ruki at all. Teeth ground together as Renamon appeared to be doing nothing but standing there, wondering if she actually received a defective, worthless digimon. "Not bad; I had expected less." Renamon spoke, giving Guilmon a softer smile, knowing it was now her turn, and she hardly ever held back. "Kohenkyo!" Her retaliation attack was aimed directly at Guilmon, not his tamer Takato like before. A feral look seemed to overcome the vulpine, even so, she could still stop without too much hesitation.

Normally, Takato would have shut up from that glare and cool tone of hers. But what caught his ears more was her words. The goggle wearing teen stared at her like she grew two heads or something. "But it's a game. You're supposed to have fun!" That was the point of it after all! He really couldn't understand her sometimes. The male could understand being serious about being the best, but she really wasn't enjoying any of this? The excitement of working one's way to the top?
Guilmon's eyes narrowed on his opponent. It seemed as if he'd switched to "attacker" dog mode or something of the like. He looked more feral than he had moments ago. If his growling was terrifying, then this was a million times worse. If his tamer wasn't determined to win, then then even he'd be surprised. But no, both were in sync.
As Renamon vanished in a fray of leaves, both Takato and Guilmon looked around, trying to figure out where she would come next. They hadn't faced a digimon with that kind of teleporting power before and -- bam! -- Guilmon was struck by Renamon, effectively knocking the dinosaur off his feet. For a second there, Takato nearly ran to Guilmon. He gritted his teeth, knowing that the battle was far from over and running there would admit defeat. He couldn't do that to Guilmon and give Ruki the satisfaction. But that didn't mean that he didn't bother to call him out. "Guilmon! You okay, boy?"
The red dinosaur nodded and quickly got back up in response. While he might have fallen, he didn't loose too much of the ferocity he held before. In fact, he looked annoyed for the first time in his life. He understood that Renamon wasn't playing and that this was an actual fight. (Something that Takato was really glad for on some parts for taking it seriously.)
There were flames licking his mouth once again and shot at the direction he'd been attacked. "Fireball!"

Landing back on her feet, Renamon studied Guilmon with an air of superiority, yet when the red dino was knocked clean off his claws from her attack, she made no effort to strike again. In front of the pair Ruki glared at her digimon, yet it wasn't because she was displeased; it was just the normal look she wore most times. That look was softer, expression light for a split second before it was gone. Renamon nodded a fraction; that look was meant to express that Ruki approved. No fun to kick a digimon while they were down, a wild one sure because it was more risk of letting them up and winning. Another digimon that belonged to a player was treated with less caution and more chance of getting attacks in. For now anyway.
Ruki remained silent, but she glared at Takato from time to time. At this point she wondered why he wasn't running away, or freaking out that Guilmon was slightly hurt; he acted mature and concerned but he wasn't giving up. Now that was what she was looking for!
Once Guilmon got up, Renamon leaped back a few paces, tail swishing to and fro. "Impressive." Renamon noted to herself, eyes flashing cold. The vulpine didn't hate Guilmon, even if Ruki didn't like him(if she didn't, Renamon didn't know her tamers position). Getting ready to flip, Renamon was in the middle of spinning when she saw the fireball hurtling towards her, unable to get out of the way in time when it smacked right in her face, singing even more fur. Landing, this time quite ungracefully, Ruki hissed at the display "weak!", and Renamon felt anger for perhaps the first time. She'd allowed the first fireball to hit because it was needed; this one wasn't because she allowed but because Guilmon had actually struck true when Renamon was more vulnerable. "Lucky shot." Renamon spoke, voice still calm, one paw rubbing the black mark that had tainted the yellow fur across her features. Some of the singed fur simply disintegrated underneath her claws.
"Don't let him win Renamon. You're better than this!" Ruki all but snarled, angry that a lower level player(even though they were the same level and skill), was managing to get in more attacks.
Kohenkyo!" Renamon called again, disappearing and reappearing closer to Guilmon, and with two swift movements, aimed another smack before backflipping and attempting to kick him. With no idea if any of her attacks would hit, Renamon deftly leaped back, yet there was enough time if Guilmon recovered or evaded her attacks to retaliate. In that case Renamon would simply divulge everything she could on the digimon.

It's not like he expected it though. Even with her evil menacing glares, she wasn't that mean to kick them while they were down.
Maybe it was because he didn't see any marks on Guilmon or maybe he was growing up a little, but he didn't look as worried as he normally would. There was something unexplainable behind it. It was like ... he expected the match to end before either side would be sent to Asuka City to heal ... or maybe it was just him being hopeful again. He liked to think that they were friends. (He mentally winced at her glare.) Maybe not close friends.
Still, even with all the taunts and insults, he couldn't muster enough anger to glare at Ruki. In fact, her glares kinda sent chills down his spine and probably scared away whatever anger he was trying to muster. Maybe his intuition was wrong, maybe they were going to battle until one of them ended up at the inn. But that didn't mean they'd be the one's going there!
Then Guilmon's attack had hit it's mark. Takato's jaw actually dropped as he stared. He wasn't sure if he should laugh, 'cause it was kinda funny how Renamon had gotten hit, or apologize for the embarrassing way she'd been struck. He did neither though, hearing Ruki's rather harsh comment while Guilmon looked at his opponent smugly.
He racked his mind. There had to be something he could think off. After all, he (of all people) should know everything about Guilmon, right? Guilmon was his digimon, so - so - He should just know what to do. Even if it was against someone as strong as Renamon. From which the thought of a digimon version of Ruki came to mind. His thoughts were quickly interrupted by Guilmon's sneeze as one of the leaves landed on his nose. "That's it! Guilmon, use your nose!"
smacksmack
But it was too late. Renamon had already made her appearance, twice even, and kicked the smug dinosaur down. He shook his head instinctively, trying to shake off the hit from the sudden strikes. It was a good thing too, because he managed to dodge the last kick from the action.
Takato bit his lip, resisting the urge to call Guilmon back. Yes, Guilmon could have done without the combination, but at least the finishing strike hadn't pegged him. However, it did knock the fight out of him.
"Takatomonnnnn," the red dinosaur called, "There's two Renamon," he whined. "That's not fair!"
His tamer stared and stared at him. His eyes widening slowly as if just registering what had happened before finally answering. "EH?!"
He shifted through his pockets for something, panicking all the while. Of course, he didn't find anything. He forgot that he was in a video game, so there was a menu that he was supposed to access instead. Remembering that, he quickly fumbled with it. There wasn't anything on there about confusion, but he soon didn't have to worry about it. (Not that he actually stopped worrying though.)
While his partner was panicking, Guilmon sat where he was, trying to get undizzy again. He blinked, then grinned up at his opponent. "She's one now?" His tail wagged a bit playfully at that, glad to see that the match was fair again.
"Y - yeah." The question caught Takato by surprise. In fact, he visibly sighed as he looked to Renamon again. "Get ready, boy." He told him.
" takato uses 5695dc " " guilmon uses firebrick "

While their training had been showing results, Terriermon was not satisfied until he could reach a form that was less toy-like as his current one was. They had seen players evolve their Digimon right in Central Park just to show off. While they had been amazing to see, Terriermon was left with even more impatience to which Jian automatically shared words of comfort and encouragement. Jian was excited to see what Terriermon’s adult form would looked like but after seeing an adorable Monmon evolve to a scary Gorillamon, he became more anxious. Would such a drastic change happen to Terriermon too? He had already told this to Terriermon once but Jian thought he was fine just the way he was.
That was when the discussion of fighting other Tamers came around. Could it make Terriermon stronger? Jian was pretty sure it could – any battle, wild or not, should merit experience. He had not seen much PvP around but that was probably because they were still in the beginner area. Once the two of them head to East Sector, PvP would be more active and the two of them would have to be more guarded.
“Let’s pick a fight right now!” Terriermon said eagerly, scouting.
“Terriermon…” Jian said warningly but a touch of fondness in his tone meant he wasn’t really serious about it. He tolerated Terriermon’s persistence, a kind of thing Jian was used to because of his little sister who was more or less the same. “Oh, look at that.”
A small crowd of players and their Digimon gathered at the middle of Central Park. They were talking among themselves, watching and pointing at something in front of the crowd.
“Did something happen?” Terriermon wondered aloud.
“Probably,” Jian said. He eyed at the players, trying to catch some words from their conversations. He overheard a passing player ask the same question to which one of the people in the crowd turned and answered. Jian listened.
“There’s a battle between players going on,” the player said. “A scary-looking chick versus this stupid guy with goggles.”
“PvP, huh? This early on? Where is it?”
The player pointed over the crowd. “Far over there. You don’t want to stay too close. A stray attack can get you hurt and transported to Asuka.”
So there are PvPs here after all? That’s…surprising. Maybe people were still warming up with the game but soon, the PvP trend would easily start spreading and who knows how terrible it could be? Not that Jian was against PvP in general but power revealed terrible aspects of the human nature. He could just imagine how extreme some people would get over a game…
He felt a tug on his pants. “Jen, let’s go have a look,” Terriermon said.
“Mm...” He nodded. They circled around the crowd and headed up front where they got a view of the battle that had unknowingly garnered a bit of attention. Fifteen feet away, a Digimon Jian recognized as Renamon was going against the other player's red dinosaur Digimon. Jian was a fan of the Digimon franchise but he had never seen something like the red Digimon. Was it a new, rare one they're releasing with the game?
“I wouldn't really call this a battle,” Terriermon commented, scratching his cheek. When Jian looked at him questioningly, he pointed to the red dinosaur seated right in the middle of the fight while his Tamer frantically searched his pockets. “Look.”
”...what is he doing?” Jian thought with half-amusement and half-disbelief. “You're right. This isn't even a fight. More like beating up.”
Terriermon sniffed the air. “Hmm. No wonder. That Renamon's a pretty tricky Digimon. Her scent's all over the place. Very faint but I'm pretty sure that's her. I wonder how...”
“I guess they're as confused as we are...” Jian said, cupping his chin. A Renamon, huh? He knew its ability to shoot out a rain of diamonds but as for what other moves it has...Jian took out his menu and pointed it to the vulpine. The answer popped out. “Ah! Kohenkyo or the Fox Change Void – now I remember!” He looked up from his menu. It's a Renamon's signature move that made her a formidable foe, attacking with swift blows with its cunning ability to hide its presence for an ambush. Definitely not the type of Digimon to attack head-on.
“Mind telling me what that is?” Terriermon asked.
“Kohenkyo's its cloning technique, basically,” he answered. “It explains why her scent's everywhere.”
“Cloning technique? I didn't see two Renamon,” he said, glancing at the battlefield to make sure.
“Which is what makes her and her Tamer pretty strong. They're using it to confuse their enemies by making it seem like Renamon's disappearing and appearing into thin air.”
“Ooooh. Sneaky,” Terriermon said. “That guy's going to get his as-”
“Terriermon...” Jian warned.
“He's going to lose,” Terriermon amended. “Badly. Damn, we should have challenged him earlier. Imagine all the experience I'd get just by beating up a red dinosaur punching bag.”
“Terriermon!”
“Jen, I can see you smiling from down here.”
Jian cleared his throat. “Well, now that we know, we better give him a hand.”
“Do you want me to stop the fight?” Terriermon asked.
“Nah,” Jian said. “PvP is part of the game. We have no right to stop a fight but we can give the goggle head some tips so the fight won't be one-sided.” Jian shrugged, grinning. “And I like sticking up to the underdog.”
The two ran to where the battle was. Jian searched a mod in his satellite which should give the guy's Digimon just what it needed. Once the distance was smaller, he offered the Defense Mod to the goggle head, who Jian, upon closer inspection, found pretty familiar.
“Take it,” he said. “Use it. Wait for Renamon to attack then it will be your chance to strike back.” This way, his Digimon should be able to stand a blow or two to land a counterattack. A bite or a swipe would do. Hopefully, the player would be able to understand that Renamon was merely using a cloning technique to confuse them.
“You can do it!” Terriermon cheered the Digimon. “Cheering for the underdog is pretty fun!”
Jian turned to the female player. Jian didn't recognize her but she didn't look very friendly at first glance. While he always saved his opinion of others beyond first impressions, the girl's eyes were colder than ice. “I hope you don't mind my intrusion. We were watching and we thought the fight was a bit too one-sided. Unless of course you don't think you can win in an even match.” It wasn't his style to taunt others but Renamon's Tamer might back out and switch to another strategy now that someone else had figured out Renamon's trick. A little prodding on the pride might get her to do the same trick.

Seemed like the red dino had no clue what Renamon's attack was, nor did the tamer who appeared confused. Hopefully this would be a, training of sorts, get him used to these types of attacks. That was not the only reason but it was a good enough one for now. "Hard and fast Renamon! Now!" Ruki called, clasping a hand around her waist, red wrist bands glaring against the pale colors of her clothing. Unlike Takato she wasn't using her digivice, finding no need to. Nothing special to warrant such a pointless action.
As Renamon landed catlike, the vulpine stood, gauging what her opponent was going to do next. Noting his confusion only kept her from attacking right at that moment, watching, waiting for any sign to leap over and emit another flurry of blows. A few of her attacks had hit but one had missed, narrowing her eyes, Renamon peered up towards the sky, seemingly standing stone still. Several yards away people were watching the battle take place, no-one keen enough to get any closer. Breathing deeply, chest rising and falling, appearing to be calm, relaxed, those eyes snapped wide, jaw partly open to allow air to rush back into her lungs. Fangs on either side gleamed ivory, and dry as a bone.
That deep breathe pulled within, Renamon leaped again, spinning around while aiming a kick at the dinosaurs chest before landing again, tail sweeping across the ground and flicking up dirt and dust that settled against the bright colors of her fur. "Use what you've got." Renamon spoke beneath her breathe, hoping Guilmon would hear, hoping he'd understand her meanings. If Guilmon used a tail swipe of even a head butt, it would help, and maybe it would give him the confidence to use it more should it hit. Fighting was not just about using techniques but what you had. For Renamon, it was kicks and punches, the thick, furry tail of hers not strong enough to knock someone out, though it could be used as a whip of sorts. Huh, there was something she hardly thought of doing, might be useful to smack him in the face with it.
Glancing up, it didn't take her long to see the new tamer come into the scene, glad, well and truly glad, that she didn't have diamond storm like other Renamon had; if she'd used it, it could have easily gone astray to hit the newcomers. "I suggest you step back." Renamon aimed words to Jen and his Terriermon, not wanting them to get any closer in case they were attacked by mistake. Renamon wasn't daft enough, but if she wasn't careful, the red dino might if he was trying to aim for her. Accidents were likely to happen when more showed up, so for the others hanging way back, at least they were smart.
Ruki had seen the pair come closer, upper lip curling in annoyance. "What are you doing here?" Voice cold as usual, if he was here to break up the battle then she'd turn her attacks onto him. Then she heard him speak, harsh expression softening once she realized he wasn't there to cause any trouble(ha, funny coming from her). The only exception was her eyes that narrowed, mirroring Renamon's narrow eyed expression when he had spoken. Did he think she wasn't strong enough to win without techniques? She was only using what Renamon came with, just like Goggle Head's digimon was doing the same thing.
"Of course I can. Just watch and learn newbie." Ruki called, sure it was unfair calling him a newbie but even she was against calling others noobs or something even meaner. "Renamon. No techs. Let's show them how its done." Ruki commanded; in this case she wasn't going to use any mods either, show them she could win without all those fancy things. Normally she would hardly listen to someone who'd just come onto the scene, but this was a challenge that she sought for, thrived for. It was time to show these two that she was the best, and would remain the best.
Makino Ruki had taken the bait.
Renamon nodded, tail curling half way as she stood back up, aiming a simple punch backed with as much strength and speed as she could. Now this was going to be interesting. No techs used, relying on nothing but her normal speed and strength. At least it was fair for those thinking before had been unfair, both Renamon and Ruki didn't share that opinion. A battle was a battle, and you did everything you could to win. Wasn't that how it went? So why was she suddenly, now, feeling bad for before. Ruki growled, knowing the only way to kill those emotions was to win.
Or was it?

His eyes were firmly printed on what was before him. Guilmon was the same, now that he managed to snap out of his confusion. His will to fight though was still gone. It was easy to tell with the silly grin plastered on his digital features. In fact, when Renamon was going to attack him, he swirled around. His tail swished where she would have attacked as he waved at two people that were running up to them. Still, the clash of the two attacks caused Guilmon to fall flat on his face with a, "omph." Because Guilmon’s was raw and unintentional, it was obvious that he was going to get overpowered. While he managed to restrain himself from running into the battle himself, Takato rubbed his nose on his arm. The whole bravo he was putting up was slowly - okay, quickly - deteriorating. It was expected. He was never the "tough" kid or that spunky, happy go lucky guy on the television, the person that people expected to be a main character of an anime. That kind of thing wasn't ... It didn't fit him and being reminded of it here and now was even worse. He was the normal kid. The kid no one expected or would expect to be big. He was just decent with stuff. Like card battling and now ... he couldn't even get Guilmon to fight properly! And, he could tell from the menu that Guilmon wasn’t going to last long if this kept up. Don't - I can't - He sniffed again. Ruki can look at him in disgust all she wanted from the action; he wasn't paying attention to it anymore. It was another reason why he came to the island in the first place, so that he'd grow up. Feeling another hand in his, he looked at its owner. Isn't that - ? Scarlet eyes widened in recognition as the guy spoke. Still choked up from earlier, he couldn't even come up with the guy's name ... much less a proper response. "T - Thanks." was all he managed to stutter. His face burned with embarrassment. Was he so clearly outmatched that he needed help? Must have. Man, he was an idiot. But, gripping onto the item the guy gave him, he was given another chance. A little bit of hope. Then, the guy's next words took him by surprise. Even more so was Ruki's reaction. She actually took the bait! He looked over to the very familiar guy with a wry grin. "Takatomon?" The red dinosaur called worriedly. He’d sensed his partner’s changes and walked up to him. Takato quickly pulled him in a hug. He hoped they could do this. "We can do it now, Guilmon. Let's show 'em." He held his hand up like he was still carrying the mod inside it, when in truth he'd just clicked on it in his menu. "Defense Mod, activate!"A dim glow surrounded Guilmon. It wasn't going to last for too long, he knew. That meant that he was going to have to make the best of it. The red dino felt rather giddy from the mod. And with that, Guilmon charged at Renamon. The guy's words were still on Takato's mind and he was going to take that advice to heart. " takato uses 5695dc "" guilmon uses firebrick "tag(s) ruki and jian notes taaaaanz, the digivice. x: change it with menu and you're golden. takato’s theme atm = w= |

"No problem," he said, still unable to shake the feeling they've met before. When those red eyes of the goggle-wearing boy widened, Jian knew that his own face was recognized as well but none of them seemed to know the other one's name exactly.
At the Renamon's words, Jian obediently stepped a few feet back, letting them resume their battle and pushing out the strangeness to the back of his head for now. He went here to give the boy a hand but Jian also wanted front row seats in a PvP battle. Best to watch and learn something from this. With the match a bit evened up, he wouldn't feel guilty just standing and watching in the sidelines either.
It was a good thing the girl actually took the bait, and even better - she wasn't going to use any techniques at all. Jian didn't know anything about the red dinosaur Digimon but with its rather unusually big physique for a child Digimon, it looked like it could land a pretty strong punch. Renamon was adept at melee combat but the Defense Mod Jian gave to the dinosaur's Tamer should ward off some damage from her punches and give him the time to attack back.
"Is she serious?" Terriermon asked from his arms.
"Looks like it," Jian said, nodding.
Terriermon watched the expression of the players and the Digimon with interest. The girl was kind of scary and Renamon was taking this too seriously. They both need to take a leaf from the dinosaur's book and just have fun (although if Terriermon was there fighting, he would take it as seriously as Renamon would). Seeing the red dinosaur play around while his Tamer sniffle in the background made Terriermon giggle though. Hopefully, Jian hadn't heard that. He has the knack for reading Terriermon's impish thoughts.
"If he's using an item, do you think Renamon's Tamer is going to use one too?" Terriermon asked again.
"Let's hope not," Jian said, crossing his fingers as the dinosaur charged at Renamon. "It depends just what an even fight is to her although anything's fair use as this is a PvP fight. It wasn't me who told her not to use techniques and the goggle guy isn't obliged to follow her either. But if she fell for that trick, her pride might not let her break her word...unless she's that desperate. I can't tell if she's a sore loser or not but one thing's fore sure, she's definitely here to win."
"You can tell that much?" Terriermon asked, blinking.
"Well, it's what I think," Jian said, shrugging. He didn't know how he ended up with such conclusions either but it must have something to do with the strong aura coming from the two. His sensei told him to get to know his opponents just by reading the aura they released. Jian wasn't quite the expert and hadn't really polished his martial arts ever since he arrived the island. He would have to work on this as it could probably help Jian and Terriermon in the future.

She was here to battle, and so was Renamon, preferring a wild digimon instead of a tamer and their partner but she'd take what she could get. Violet orbs rolled inwardly as Guilmon effortlessly(it seemed) dodged Renamon's attacks before, get this, ignoring the battle and waving towards the newcomers. Renamon's attacks landed soon after, causing the digimon to fall, and Renamon to stand just over the red dinosaur, carefully judging if this was just true, or if the red digimon was participating in some sort of trick. "Got to do better than that dino-boy." Renamon purred, icy eyes narrowed even though she was giving the other digimon encouragement. Her tamer may be all gung-ho, wanting nothing more than to win, Renamon wanted at least a fairer fight. When Ruki took the bait, relief did manage to sweep its way through her system. For now there was no choice but to have a fair fight(for if Ruki demanded all attacks, Renamon would have no choice but to obey).
Both looked towards Takato, Renamon's watch was brief while Ruki almost recoiled, biting back the scathing words that threatened to tear from her tongue. Was the boy crying, actually crying? Oh man. This was hardly what she expected from the fight. "Listen Goggle Head. You can win if you just think." Ruki called out in a grumble. Not that she believed he could win, but a little ah, encouragement wouldn't hurt. And it would hopefully stop him from crying like a baby. Despite Jian giving Takato a Defense Mod, it wasn't something that got under her skin; if it provided a better fight rather than Guilmon being used as a punching bag, then all the better. Standing with legs slightly apart, Ruki thrust a hand out, pointing at Renamon. "Show him what we got Renamon!" Ruki ordered, not even tempted to grab her digivice or use any of her mods. That would only defeat the purpose of what she had said earlier. No techs, no mods, she'd win without those. The only person who had been able to defeat her regardless of what she did was Ryou. Now where was he, gone, disappeared. "Attack now!" Ruki all but snarled as various emotions began to wail up inside.
Renamon watched the glow surrounding her opponent, waiting for the red dino to come her way before doing anything. With a defense mod activated, it would mean her attacks would be weaker than before, with any luck she'd be able to keep going while the mod ran out. As Guilmon started to charge her way, Renamon's white claws dug deeper into the ground, tensing herself for the oncoming blow. Before the dinosaur could reach, her upper claws pushed out, ready to grab and ensnare his head to, hopefully, lessen the blow. Of course, with that, it left her open for a swipe from his tail, nothing she could do about that. "You wish to dance dino-boy? Lets dance!" Renamon taunted, at any second the dinosaur would be coming closer, and closer. And by headbutt or tails, he'd get an attack in should he take that path. Renamon has to win. We have to win. I will not lose to him. It'll be just as bad as losing to Ryou. Remembering her vow, Ruki refrained from any sort of advantage, knowing that if she won, it would be because Renamon was a better fighter, not because of overusing techs. Renamon meanwhile swiped her tail from side to side, hoping to at least distract Guilmon once he got close enough.
