I have no idea what Fate is and I'm weird out that Alice got the Crest of Light although...if I compare her to Kagerou I think I can see why :u they're both kind of mean but not in the evil way. They're both pretty cold and indifferent but they have a loving side that they don't care about showing.
OH OH look at Kouji xD Perfect example. Cold on the outside, but nice in the inside. Symph, I bet if you had left your crest blank, you would have gotten Purity or Kindness.
But with this theory, Ruki should have gotten Light...*scratches chin* strangely she gets the opposite. *shifty eyes*

hm, lemme give you a hint.
The "hidden" crests are based after the digimentals or digieggs from the wonderswan games. Tenacity had the other name of stubbornness. Pride had the other name of boastfulness and desire was greed. Darkness was in the game and card game. It was considered an object with mysterious power. As for fate and miracles, well, you've seen them in the the series and the movies.
... and I think that there might only be two people under kindness, huh.

Akira got Reliability. I was going for Hope or Light. I didn't understand how he got Reliability at first, but after I got past thinking about the dorky Joe, I definitely understood why he got it.
