• takato's parents work at a bakery and it's a very fun and loving place. he is an only child, so they do like to spoil him.
  in order to get to digimon online, he had to convince his parents in letting him go by acing all his tests in school (prior to leaving) and that he has to bring back with some sort of memorabilia.
  
• takato really did "design" guilmon and his evolutions. it was some sort of contest back in his home and he'd won! and thus, guilmon was born! he didn't know about the other versions of him they made (guilmonx and blackguilmon). he's pretty proud he was able to do something for digimon online, even if it was one digimon line.
  
• he's really an "average joe" kind of boy. nothing really special about him or it looks like it. there's flares of a more "leader like" side to him when he's pressured. otherwise, he's a docile as a mouse ... or can be when he's not in "fightfightfight" mode. even then, he knows just how to have fun.

digimon online was ... the coolest thing every made to mankind and possibly the entire universe! but that wasn't takato being biased at all. the smooth textures of the world made it seem like everything was really there. he could even feel himself bumping into people and boy did it hurt! (not that he did it often, but when he wasn't looking, he'd alway managed to bump into the biggest, muscular looking person in the street. and then stuff would happen leading to takato running for the hills.)

but here, he didn't have to do that. well, not yet anyways. everyone was around the same level at the moment. maybe a few had more experience training, but it wasn't by much! it hasn't even been a week since they gotten to the island after all! and, the staff was sure to make sure that everyone had a good amount of sleep.

speaking of which, it was another reason he liked the game so much. he got to be away from everything -- for a whole year! no school, no parents. just video games. all day. all night. (he had to stop himself from fistpumping at public from that thought, 'cause they would have stared and that would have been really awkward.)

anywho, the process was pretty quick. they made them reread the whole terms of agreement thing (that takato barely listened/read) and then confirming his account (which was naturally called goggle head), and then marched off to this whole other world.

with an awesome -- powerful -- looking partner that he was sure to remember designing. like the base picture, his drawings weren't really good enough to be like him, but the thought was all that counted, right? anywho, imagine his surprise to see that it got sent in and they made it come true. his own real life dinosaur digimon.

then there was the battle system. smooth, flawless. he couldn't imagine any battle so real before. it was - it was ... he couldn't even form the words. the thrill and adrenaline rushed through his body and guilmon's as they fought. even if it were something as little as those weed/plant eaters.

overall, being here, playing the game, it was as if he died and went to heaven. but, there was one thing that bothered him.

"takatomoooon!"

the red dinosaur whined. a clawed hand tugged at the bottom of takato's shirt. the boy smiled wryly at that and pulled him off as he kneeled before him.

"guilmon. my name is takato. not takatomon. okay?" the boy said. his tone was lightly scolding, but not near enough for the red dinosaur to take him seriously. he did, however, give him a curious look and a toothy grin.

"takatomon's name is takatomon." he nodded vigorously.

takato nearly smacked himself in the face. they had gone through this countless times already, but not matter what ...

guilmon couldn't say his name.
