• Ken is very intelligent, but not nearly as smart as his brother was at his age. The boy gets very high marks in school, but is always striving to do better.
  
• With the loss of his brother, Ken blamed himself for it. It's been a few years since then - and although he's grown out of the initial depression, he still has plenty of moments.
  
• He has a slight stutter when in large groups - a bit of social anxiety from distancing himself so often.
  
• Ken stopped visiting the digital world as often as he should once his brother started making appearances. Worried for his sanity he took a break - and is now making his return.

REASON FOR JOINING BETA TESTING For the chance to get to know new people (under an alias, that's always a plus!), as well as participate in a serious competition within a world that is nearly limitless in bounds and potential.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE Ken's first few minutes within the digital world had been absolutely curious. He spent a few minutes testing the controls, moving his arms and legs, running his fingers across anything that he could. That first few minutes was spent getting used to the scenery and the way everything felt, but it honestly didn't take long to adjust at all. It felt just like the real world, just like he was moving through a city that he'd never been to before. It didn't feel like he was surrounded by data, or that all of this was some sort of virtual world. It didn't feel like none of this was real - and that made it easier to get lost in it without feeling bad. He wasn't abandoning reality for something easier - because in the end this felt the same as the real world. For now, Ichijouji Ken could accept that logic and keep moving on. He had a temporary escape, he wasn't about to write it off so easily.

Reaching for his digivice, he called Wormmon out and the little digimon stood in front of him, staring up with all of the tenacity in the world. How peculiar... when he looked up digital monsters, he never expected them to be shy. He thought that they would be ambitious and possibly even mean at first - yet here he was with a little green worm that seemed to be a mixture of terrified and overjoyed. "Well we finally get to meet Wormmon." The dark haired boy smiled at the mon, kneeling to get a better look at him. "I'm Shinrai." He introduced himself to the digimon, and for a moment he just stared. Had... he scared him? He wasn't afraid of people was he? "Wormo-" But he didn't have to repeat himself, the other suddenly launched into movement, wiggling rather happily before he squirmed closer to his human.

Blue eyes and what seemed to be a smile on that purple beak-like mouth made the bug digimon look happy. "It's a pleasure to meet you Shinrai." He never thought that he would be chosen to have a partner - this was the luckiest thing that had ever happened to the creature. The insect swore that he would protect his tamer no matter what - and he would help him with whatever he wanted here in the digital world. He would have to digivolve soon though if he was going to stand up to anyone... they would worry about that later. "I never thought that I'd end up with a tamer, I'm not really the lucky sort." His words were muddled and spoken somewhat quickly as he rambled out the end of his sentence.

He certainly wasn't any sort of monster - the mon spoke politely, and although he seemed to have the tendency to get embarrassed, Ken thought that he was absolutely charming. Holding back a bit of laughter, he bobbed his head in a short, crisp nod. "Well I guess we're both lucky then." He patted the digimon's head before standing back up. It was partly to see how the insect's skin felt - but mostly an act of endearment. Ken had to admit that his new partner was probably the cutest bug that he had ever seen. He was his protection though - and his partner not his pet. So he would treat him as such, even before he thought of him as the data that he was. "Come on - lets explore the city." Maybe there was someone here that he could talk to before he set out on his initial adventure.
