CREST Give me back my love ;~; REASON FOR JOINING BETA TESTING Jian is a fan of Digimon though even if it wasn't about Digimon, he would definitely jump in the opportunity to engage in this promising virtual reality.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE Jian was rushing back home where both safety and trouble awaited. It was almost eight o'clock and the streets of Shinjuku was packed with traffic. He kept a small paper bag close to his chest to prevent the rain from damaging the item he risked to have a chance with. It began with an irresistible temptation, a mistake, and a really bad timing.
It was bad enough he was running through the rain. Although he knew it was going to rain tonight, Jian had no plans to be outside at this time. This morning, all he knew was that he was going to school as usual, finish the film project on the park with his classmates, and head straight back home just in time for a family dinner. He promised he wouldn't be late as they had much enough time to finish the film. Should there be any problems or delays with the project, he would call his mother and notify her. At the end of the day, something held Jian back and it wasn't something his mother - or himself - would consider as a valid excuse like a school project.
A video game sale.
Jian wasn't usually the one to fall easily to temptations. His parents trusted him even more than they did to his older siblings. Having just finished a pretty big project, Jian thought he should reward himself. He was just going to scan through the games and buy a few games he would like. He lost track of time and only realized too late when his mother called, concerned.
"Jian, are you heading home now? You haven't called at all. Did something happen?"
Jian checked the clock on the store. It was only fifteen minutes past o'clock and dinner wasn't at seven. He would have enough time to get home...oh. Jian hissed painfully and he had the dire need to smack himself on the face. It slipped his mind that it was the rush hour. He wouldn't be able to get back home on time. "Er...sorry, I got sidetracked," he said guiltily. He wouldn't lie to his parents although there had been occasions when he had. Getting the truth squeezed out wasn't a nice feeling. "But we finished the film," Jian added hopefully. That way, maybe she wouldn't be as angry.
"Well, get back home soon. Your father isn't in one of his best mood..."
Jian looked grim. "I will. Sorry, Mom, and to Dad and the others."
Jian was in good terms with his father. Very good terms, actually. They were both interested in computers and warfare and often practiced Tai Chi together. He is more than a father figure for Jian. Although he was busy at work, he always did paid attention to his family more than anything. There had been times they argued but Jian knew his father only meant the best; however, there were just some things a teenager couldn't get across to his father. His father never raised his voice even if Jian would but his father was a strong authority figure in the family. His presence alone stood tall and firm.
After fifteen minutes, he finally made it to their apartment. His heart skipped a beat when the elevator stopped and rang. He stepped out, walked through the hallway, passing some of their neighbors idly looking at his phone, and stopped to face the door to his home. Jian took out his house keys, unlocked the door, and opened it. He heard the mild chatter die into a stone cold silence. Even more weighted with guilt, Jian removed his shoes, wearing the house slippers. He wondered if moving slower would make things work out better.
Jian stepped in the dinning room and he just stood there, waiting for someone to break the silence. Well, he looked stupid. His father had his arms crossed and though he wasn't looking particularly angry, he wasn't pleased. He saw his father's eyes focus shift, lowering to the item Jian held. Jian had the desire to smack himself again. Now he really looked stupid. Not only was he late, he was exposed quickly just by one look. He could hear his older siblings snickering. Not like they made the effort to hide it.
Jian sighed. "Sorry..."
His father smiled. "Dinner's going to get frozen cold. You can explain while we eat. But first, put that thing in your room or else I might throw it out the window."
Jian grinned as the room devoid of noise was suddenly full of giggles and laughter. He nodded and ran toward his room.
It was amazing to have an understanding family. They had some bumps here and there but they were still together by the end of the day - during family dinners at seven o'clock.
